With a love of language and an aptitude for teaching, Michael Boustany and Michael Greenberg first met as instructors within The University of Toronto’s English Language Program and connected over their shared professional interests in pronunciation and business communication. They also recognized the impact that specialized training had on helping students from diverse backgrounds integrate more successfully into their new professional environments. The knowledge and experience they gained through teaching at U of T, coupled with their previous work experience training working professionals, enabled them to establish the foundation of a lifelong career in language and communication teaching and training.
Japan & Abroad
Several years later, after becoming certified teachers and attaining graduate degrees in Applied Linguistics, Michael G and Michael B wanted to challenge themselves and further develop their skills sets. They moved to Tokyo, Japan, where they worked at universities and with employees from Japanese companies. In addition to busy work schedules, they presented internationally and published academic papers on language theory and practice. Studying Japanese provided additional insights into the unique challenges that language learners face. Their experience in Japan helped them to hone their teaching and training skills, and better prepared them for the future.
Return to North America
After returning to North America (Michael B in Los Angeles and Toronto and Michael G in Vancouver), our recognition of the clear need for specialized language and communication services inspired us to launch Speech Clarity™. With more than 50 years of combined experience, our unique insights and skill set, and encouragement from former students and businesspeople, we decided to create a company that would allow us to share the language and communication knowledge and delivery methods that we had come to master. We genuinely care about our clients, and the quality of our programs reflects this commitment to helping them become their best. Through Speech Clarity’s training system, our clients achieve tangible results that lead to growth opportunities and a more rewarding future.
